Last Thursday night we got pea-sized hail out on the ridge. It really chewed up the potatoes and the leaves on the trees. Carolyn called me at work when it was coming down and I could hardly hear her over the sound of the hail hitting the windows and the side of the house. Bow Island got golfball- sized hail which ruined alot of crops, the wheat was mowed down and some of the corn fields looked like someone had gone through with a mower!
When I came out to check on things this is what was left for hail.
You can tell which way the wind was driving it since the south side of the house was still dry. Note the black sky to the north. It rained most of the night and I think we ended up with close to an inch which was good timing since we went camping for the weekend and I didn't have to worry about watering the yard.
