On New Year's Day we decided to make an Igloo in the back yard on that 4 foot drift, this after we realized the drift was hard enough to walk on.
Cutting the blocks out, my dad taught me how to use a handsaw at an early age!
Notice whose doing all the work?
Just the hardest part left; the roof.
It was a little frosty out this day, can you tell?

Great igloo!! Part fish cop, part Hungarian Eskimo. Well done; the roof part looked tricky. Nice entrance with the slope up to the floor of the igloo.
That snowdrift was begging for it!
Thanks! I remember dad building us one every year and the roof was always an issue. We watched a Film Board of Canada film on You Tube about Eskimos building an igloo and it was a big help! The trick is to pick the right snow and cut big blocks!!! That drift deserved everything it got.
